Finally - someone else who doesn't like Harry Potter!!
Never read Hannibal. I liked the film well enough, I suppose - although as is often the case with sequels, it definitely suffers in comparison to Silence of the Lambs.
Enjoyed your rant on the book you'd most want to burn - it does sounds like there's a lot wrong with it!
they had to send him back because of the spell that dumbledore cast to hide him from he-who-must-not-be-named...the spell entailed that he had to return to a household that contains someone of his blood line...the only one there is would be his aunt petunia. not that I'm criticizing but I thought if I could explain it that would be one less thing you didn't like XD
Thank you for explaining. That does make a little more sense. I won't blame the book for that, but perhaps the film could have expressed this idea better.
I hated Lord of the flies but my chuck at the teacher book would've been Last of the Mohicans. He spends like 100 pages talking about a bush...it gets to the point where it's like "did he forget he's supposed to be telling a story??/"
