Wednesday's Magnetic Poem - My Dragon Heart

Hello all. I decided to post my magnetic poem today since I don't have any new weekly obsessions. I love writing poems about dragons. Dragons and Mermaids are my favorite mythical creatures. I wrote this poem for the perspective of the dragon being the narrator.

Wednesdays Magnetic Poem

Hello all. I'm afraid I had to go with another magnetic poem posting today. I seriously don't have any other weekly obsessions other than this Shakespeare Intensive I'm in. It a lot of fun work, but it is work. Haha! I have several things to memorize and make notes on. I just simply didn't have brain power to think of any additional things to write this week. I'm still going to try to find something fun for dance topics tomorrow and there will be a vlog video on Saturday. I will have to see if I can plan further ahead next week, so everything gets done. Check out this poem for now and remember to speak positively to yourself.

Tuesday's Magnetic Poem

Oh my goodness! I got so involved with the first day of my Shakespeare Intensive class, and the research I was doing for my monologue that I forgot to make a playlist for today. So sorry people. I will try to do better next week. For now I am posting my magnetic poem for today. It's a dark one. My brain is a weird mixture of literature right now, so think the poem reflects that.

Monday's Magnetic Poem - Life Is Beautiful

Hello all. I know I been kind of all over the place with the movie review post. I'm just a little uninspired with my normal Monday post. I need to find some way to reinvent it for myself I suppose. Maybe I think of something that also incorporates TV because I'm watch so much of it. Anyway because I'm still brainstorming this is a poem type of day. Thank you for being so patient with my blog master craziness. I promise to work it out. Here's is the poem today. I wanted to write something inspirational because I'm feeling a bit uninspired. Have a awesome day and remember that life is beautiful.

Monday's Magnetic Poem Of The Day

Hey guys. Today is usually when I would post my poetry book journal. However, I was totally lame this month and didn't work on my book much at all. I must do better next month. So instead of writing a journal about my failure to work on much poetry I am posting today's magnetic poem of the the day. It's a dancing one. Yay!

Undone - A Poem

Hey guys. I was in a poetical mood and just thought I would post one of the poems that I'm thinking of putting in my poetry book. I picked this one to share because I feel like it is the story of my life at the moment. Especially as I stare at the pile of dirty laundry spilling out of my closet. Today is should be a fairly productive day though so I'm not overly concerned. Haha!

Undone
Things I’ve left undone
Clutter the corners of my brain
I know that my thoughts will not rest
Unless I clean the mess in my mind
Unless I do what is undone

Writing My Poetry Book Diaries 2 - Rough Draft Half Complete

Hello all. The month is almost over so I figured it was time for me to post my monthly diary of how my poetry book is going. So far it is going pretty well. I had around four notebooks of hand written poems to work through. I have for the most part typed up all the poems I'm thinking of using from all the notebooks. However, there are some that I have marked to possibly revise and include. I think I will wait until I am nearly done to fix those poems up. I'm also planning on using some of the magnetic poems that I've created for my magnetic poem of the day on tumblr and twitter. I'm not planning on including all of them, but there are some that I'm proud of and other people seem to like too. I got a start on typing up some of the magnetic poems last week. I've been making some small additions and edits to them as well, because there were some new ideas that I thought of for them. Overall I feel like I'm am about half way through my rough draft. I got some ideas for the what poems I want to go first and last which is awesome. I guess that's it for my chat about my poetry book for this month. Excited to see how far I get by next month.

Tuesday's Magnetic Poem Of The Day

Hello all. I'm finding that I am struggling with knowing what to do with the Tunes For Tuesday post. Usually that would mean that it is time to change what I'm doing for that day, but I'm reluctant to do that this time. I might however take a break from the music post and just do one every two weeks until I can get some better playlist/music related ideas. As I usually do when I deviate from normal post schedule I am posting my magnetic poem for today. Haha! A lot of my poems center around space lately. Too much science fiction on my brain.

Tuesday's Magnetic Poem of The Day

Hey guys. I decided to post today's magnetic poem. I'm really intrigued by this one today. Also I need to brainstorm more ideas for new playlists for Tunes For Tuesday. I actually got an idea while sitting here writing, so I should have something for next week. Shiny!

Wednesday's Magnetic Poem of the Day

Hey all. I frankly didn't have that many weekly obsessions. Other than the fact that I'm going to try to film a bunch of videos ahead this week. I've put a lot of focus on that. Anyway as usual I have decided to post today's magnetic poem. This poem turned out way more psychedelic sounding than I thought it would. I just wanted to use the word purple. Apparently purple is a crazy word.

Writing My Poetry Book Diaries 1 - Getting Started

Hello all. I felt like writing something a little different today. I felt like doing a journal series about me working on publishing a book of my poetry. I thought it could be something I could do once a month to tell you all about my process as well as keep me inspired to keep working.  I thought would write a bit about how I got started writing poetry today and some reasons why I want to publish. On with the journal.

I've been writing poems since I was a young teen. These were tough years for me. I discovered that I had a couple learning differences, ADD and Dyspraxia. These made the ability to do school work and occasionally my dance study a struggle. I was also an extremely artistic kid who behaved like an adult in a school with normal teens who focused on sports. Sports are lovely just not for a kid with low motor skills who wants to put on a play every second. Eventually I started going to correspondence school in 9th grade which helped, but until then I struggled. While I was not friendless it was hard to relate to the other people my age and I often had nothing to do when I had free time in classes.

Then I discovered a book that my mom had bought on how to write poetry. It showed you how to write a variety of types of poetry forms. I found that I loved writing poems. Often if there was time in school I would write poems. It was a great way to express how I felt or imagine how others felt. It filled my time and it filled my soul. If I had a hard day at school I would write a poem about it. If I had trouble with a dance teacher I wrote about it. It was also a nice way to explore writing stories about characters in my mind in a short way. My learning differences made it very hard for me to organize writing things like short stories, but the story ideas were still there, and I could write them as a poem. I eventually my mom who is a songwriter taught me how to transition what I had learned from writing poetry into writing songs. Over the years I have started writing more songs than poems, but occasionally I still will write something that doesn't fit in the song box, and that becomes a poem.

One day in January of 2015  I realized that I had a crazy number of poems in that I had written from the age of perhaps 14 to 29 that I had done absolutely nothing with. Not all of them were great but some I thought were good enough to see the light of day. The funny thing about poems is that you actually have to put a book together if you want people to read them. Songs you can sing anywhere, but poems have to be in a book of some sort. Unless you are going the slam poetry route which is cool too, but it probably wouldn't get out to quite as many people.

The bottom line is that I am planning on showing some of these poems to the world by self publishing my works. It's taken awhile for me to actually be able to have time to work on it, but now I finally have the window of time I need.  I'm in the very beginning stages. I am just starting with typing up all the hand written material. I usually pick a day, put on my favorite music, and just start typing. I'm thinking I might add in some the  magnetic poems of the day that I've created for twitter and tumblr as well. However, I'm going to let my mom be my editor after I'm done with just typing things up. I need an outside view to pick what fits the best. Also I do occasionally veer toward to the creepifying. I have often called my style something close to Langston Huges meets Edgar Allen Poe. Occasionally I am very heavy in the unsettling Poe direction. I need someone to tell me if it's too creepy. Haha! Anyway that's all I have for my rambling poetry book journal for this month. I'm a little scared of all the typographically errors that might be in this. I try to check, but you know...ADD, Dyspraxic, slightly dyslexic, fast typing...not always a good mix in a long post. Lol! See you all tomorrow. Stay shiny!

Tuesday's Magnetic Poem

Hey all. I'm so sorry this isn't a music related post. I woke up this morning and realized that I had totally blanked on making a playlist, writing anything, or even finding a video. I was so spaced out yesterday. However, my magnetic poem for today is slightly musical so I hope you enjoy it. It about how if you decide to be happy it can make you feel happy.

Monday's Magnetic Poem Of The Day

Hey guys! Sorry there isn't a movie review today. Things are rather busy. I'm going in to work on season 2 of Tune Time this morning to film some episodes, so I don't have long to write. As always I will at least post my magnetic poem for today to make up of it. This one has some fun imagery.

Tuesday's Magnetic Poem of The Day

Hello all. For some reason I had zero inspiration for a Tunes For Tuesday post. So I just decided to share my magnetic poem for today. It's about how occasionally bad things can take you by surprise.

Wednesday's Magnetic Poem of The Day

Sorry again guys. Moving this last bit of stuff is seriously messing up my blogging schedule. Grrr! I'm getting a little overwhelmed and that makes writing the longer post difficult this week. I will still be posting Dance Topics tomorrow and next week I should be back to the normal blog schedule. Until then here is my magnetic poem for today.

Monday's Magnetic Poem of The Day

Hello all. Sorry about not doing my normal schedule today. My family is trying to get the last haul of stuff out of the old house by Thursday. I need the extra time this morning to unpack some things before I bring more stuff into the new home. I can obviously relate to my magnetic poem for today. Haha!
