Hey all. I'm doing all sorts of new segments for the Tuesday music blog. The newest is that I'm reviewing my new song discoveries. I call this segment The New Favorites. It's sort of named after the Alison Krauss & Union Station album. Ha ha!
For today's blog I've picked a song called Winter's Song. I found this song when I was watching a bunch of different fan videos, and I found one that was based on Period Piece films. The video was beautifully edited but I found the musc in it even more beautiful. The song reminded me of one of the books I'm reading so I wanted to add to my book playlist. However, I didn't know who did the song so I searched it on the internet. (The beauty of the internet.) It turned out it was by Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michealson. I couldn't believe that I had never heard this song! It's by two of my favorite musical artists. I love that these girls' voices really complement each other. I also love the instrumentation. It have a lovely piano and strings thing going on. Also, is that ukulele I hear? Maybe? Shiny! Of course the lyrics are equally as lovely as all of those things.
To add to all that the music video for Winter's Song is darn cute. Little cartoon versions of Sara and Ingrid collecting heart leaves in the snow. Awwww. So adorable. I've posted the music video below and well as the video that lead me to discovering what I think will be may new favorite song. So have a listen and keep it shiny.
