Why It's A Must See Movie

I thought since I was going to be reviewing vampire book at the end of the week I would review a vampire movie at the beginning of it. I have quite a few favorite vampire films but The Lost Boys is near the top of my list. I'm tempted to just say you should watch it just because it's awesome and call it a day. However, I would never actually do that to you guys.

First of all you should watch it for the movie's tone. It's got a quality that mixes horror, comedy, and of course a little bit of camp. I personally think it's okay for a vampire movie to have a certain level of camp as long as it doesn't go to far. The Lost Boys has just the right amount. This movie will make you laugh but it will also make you a little concerned for the protagonists. No matter how matter how many times I watch it I still worry about the fate of Michael and Sam. That is because the movie does such a great job at building tension for the action scenes. I also like how the movie avoids attempting to do effects that would have come off overly corny. Most of the effects are done with sound and creative camera shots. Great idea!

The performances of the actors is just great. They all have some kind of endearing quality. Even people playing evil vamps got it. Don't ask me why. Plus, there are some points in the film where the actors facial expressions are just priceless. In addition The Lost Boys has a ton of great quotes and an excellent use of music. As I said just watch it because it's awesome.
