Weekly Obsession Wednesday

Hello my friends! Time for weekly obsessions. These are three pretty fun ones.

#3 Re-watching Older Disney Movies

I recently started scanning some of the children's section on Netflix. I realized that they have quite a few of the Disney movies I used to love as a kid, and that I haven't watched for the longest time. Since then I've been obsessed with the idea of watching them all again. I'm most excited to watch The Great Mouse Detective, The Rescuers, and The Sword and the Stone. I hope to get to watch them all in the next couple days. I kind of want to watch Dumbo but I'm not sure I will. The part where Dumbo's mommy gets locked up in the cage and rocks him with her trunk through the bars makes me so sad. I would have to be in a super good mood to handle that.

#2 The Fray

It turns out that my mom's cello teacher can get us tickets to see The Fray's concert on Saturday for free. Shiny! Awesomeness! They are a great band so it's exciting. I haven't listened to them in awhile so my goal for the week is to get super familiar with their songs so I can sing along at the concert. It's always more fun if you can sing along at a concert.

#1 Test Recording

This week my mom and I did some simple test recordings of the songs we perform just to see what the arrangements sound like. They all sounded pretty good. We didn't have to make many changes at all. I discover that the way I sing one of my songs actually sounds good even though I always thought I didn't sing it that well. I guess it's good to listen to yourself in a different way sometimes.
