#5 Reading
I'm always obsessed with reading but I'm particularly into it this week. I just happen to be reading several really good books at the moment. Well...one is just ok but it's still entertaining. I can't think of many moments this week when I haven't had my nose in a book. That's pretty good because Stephan King says that to be a good writer you have to read a lot and write a lot. So I'm being successful on working towards being a better writer.#4 Video Editing Practice
I like to practice video editing. I'm one of those unashamed nerds that makes fan videos. They're good practice because I'm trying to get better at using my current editing program, so I can know what I'm doing when I start editing my own productions. Anyway the video I'm currently working on requires a certain amount of obsession because I'm challenging myself to use a lot of techniques that I haven't really used before. Mostly using clips with the time reversed and making it look cohesive. Plus, it's set to a slow song which has been always been a challenge for me. If I don't get to over whelmed I might try to use my color filtering program on it too. I've included a playlist of some of my recent fan videos so you can see the fruits of my practice. It's kind of only Baz Luhrmann movies right now because that's what I had on my computer right at the moment, but I'm going to be working in other fandoms soon. I might post my Gone With The Wind Video after I'm done with writing this. Oh, by the way, my vidder name is ScarletCherry in case you were wondering.
#3 The Civil Wars Album
I'm totally in love with The Civil Wars most recent self titled album this week. I listened to the album when it first came out but I didn't listen to it while really analyzing it at the time. Recently I have taken the time to really seriously listen to it and I've found it even more amazing. The lyrical content it's so good and interesting. I love the harmonies and the less is more musicianship. I particularly love their song "The One That Got Away" and their cover of "Disarm" originally performed by the Smashing Pumpkins.
#2 Anti-Cold and Snow
We are having a time of yucky weather here in Tennessee. Last year we had an unusually warm winter and this year we have an unusually cold one. I am not enjoying it. I like Bella Swan of Twilight do not like cold wet things. This snow and gray and cold thing is getting on my nerves. Plus, I have small picky potty dogs so I actually have to go outside every couple hours. Bummer! I can't wait until spring. Basically I'm obsessed with snow hate.
#1 My Dogs
Of course I always love my dogs Zeeburt and Teela. However, they have been particularly funny over the last couple of days. They have very funny personalities. Zeeburt is a rat terrier which means he loves to snuggle and just be chill. Lately though he's started to go a bit deaf, which has made him quite adorably clingy to me. He's been really into snuggling with me in my bed this week, which of course made my toy poodle Teela want to copy him and do the same. So I was basically trapped between two small dogs but we were all warm so it was cool. Speaking of little Teela, she is a hilarity on cute hoppy feet. She's a tom boy but also a diva. She will put up a fit little a two year old if she doesn't get her way, but she's is usually very sweet. She's really very fearless for a tiny dog.
I have funny nick names for my dogs. Zeeburt is Baby-Stinky because he has really smelly breath right now. Nothing seems to help it. If you have any tips let me know. I call Teela Baby-Psycho because she hops like a bunny and reminds me of that Happy Bunny slogan that goes "Cute but Psycho." She can get a really crazy looking face on when she's playing with a dog toy or stealing socks. I made a cute video with my magisto app. today to show you how cute they are. One of my mom's music students was kinds enough to pet and play with them to make them look extra adorable.
