YouTube Video of The Week - The Lizzie Bennet Diaries Ep.1

Hey all. Let's talk YouTube videos. More specifically lets talk web series. I've actually grown to love watching web series on YouTube. They are short enough episodes to fit in your day when you don't have time but you want to watch something. Watch a show on Hulu or Netflix might take a 30 minutes to and hour of you time, but a web show is usually between 2-10 minutes long. Plus, web shows offer great opportunities for actors to work.

The Lizzie Bennet Diaries was the first web show I got into. I actually discovered it by accident about several months ago. I kept seeing all of this LBD fanfiction in the Pride and Prejudice section of fanfiction.net. I got curious so I Googled the name and found this really cool web show.

I case it wasn't obvious the The Lizzie Bennet Diaries is an updated version of Pride and Prejudice told through the video blogs of Lizzie Bennet. The story includes not just Lizzie's YouTube tales but also spin off channels for several other characters to round out the story. I loved seeing how the made all the story elements work for the modern age. I also found the actors totally engaging and hilarious. It became really addictive, and because I jumped on the train after the show was almost finished, I didn't have to wait for the next episode every week. Which of course made it more addictive. I keep telling all my friends about it so I figured why not introduce it to the readers of this blog. So here is episode one of LBD. Watch and enjoy the series the won an emmy for Original Interactive Program in 2013.
