Why It's A Must See Movie
My friend Michael drew to my attention that I hadn't picked a Hitchcock film for this segment yet. He was absolutely right and so I made it my mission to pick a Hitchcock film for this week.
Probably almost every movie directed by Alfred Hitchcock will be chosen for the Must See Movie at some point in the future. Out of all the abundance of great choices I decided to go with Rear Window. Firstly because I think that it's a great film to start with if you have never seen a Hitchcock film before. Secondly because I think it is one of the cleverest movies ever made. I love how the film makes so much social commentary, and uses the events of the story to reflect the inner fears of the the main characters, but all underneath a very exciting thriller story. I also think the dialogue is just as clever as a the direction of the film. Speaking of the direction you have to commend any one who can create an exhilarating thriller that only takes place in a tiny apartment and a court yard with no special effects. That is pretty darn awesome if you ask me.
Well that's all folks. I feel like this post was really short but I said everything I wanted to say. Anyway please do watch Rear Window this week. Let me know what you think of it. Keep it shiny!
