Hello people. I realized I haven't done a music video spotlight in awhile. You know that thing were I speak about my thoughts on music videos that I think have awesome concepts beyond their great music. You know the segment that you probably thought I had forgotten about.
This week I've picked the music video for Dixie Chicks' song Top of The World. First of all I loved this song the first time I listen to it several years ago. I loved it even more when I watched the music video. The video reminds me of the book/film The Hours in a lot of ways. It depicts the three members of the musical group as three women in different time periods. The video explores how parents effect their children in profound ways and how you carry a little part of how you are raised into your life. The concept of this video just knocks me out every time. I also love the more artistic moments carry so much symbolism. The song is really on the longer side but you don't notice it because the music video is like a short film. Basically I totally fan girl on this music video. Haha! Brilliant!
