Weekly Obsession Wednesday- The Music Edition!

Hey guys! After a two week break I'm back to doing Weekly Obsession Wednesday. I thought I would restart with a special music edition. Today I'll be listing all my obsessions this week that have to do with music. Now on with the countdown.

5. Gabrielle Aplin

A couple weeks ago the only song I knew of Gabrielle's was her song "Please Don't Say You Love Me." I put this song on my The Fault In Our Stars playlist. That led to YouTube post more of her music videos in my suggestions. That led me to listening to a few more of her songs. I decided that I really enjoyed her music. Her music arrangements and vocal styling are lovely. It good stuff to just chill and listen to or read to.

4. Broadway Idiot

Monday night I was having a really hard sleeping. Since I was wide awake I thought I should just check out what was new on Netflix. I ended up watching this documentary called Broadway Idiot, which is about the creation of the Broadway musical interpretation of Green Day's American Idiot. I found it very interesting and sort of adorable (despite the the fact that rockers love their cursing). Plus, a ton of examples of cool new arrangements of songs that are already awesome and great strong singing.

3. The Grey's Anatomy All 80's Covers Project

During the second half of season 10 of the show Grey's Anatomy the soundtrack has consisted of most all covers of 80's songs. This is an idea created by the shows creator Shonda Rhimes along with the music supervisior for the show Alex Patsavas. I just think this soundtrack idea is brilliant. It is awesome! I almost forget to watch what is happening on the show at times because the the covers are so good. I am now trying to find out who all the artist of all the songs are this week. Here's a ling to a article about the project on Hollywood Reporter: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/greys-anatomy-all-80s-covers-687707

2. Robot Koch

Robot Koch is a music producer and creator of electronic music. I am totally and completely obsessed with a song called "Nitesky" by Robot Koch Feat. John LaMonica. I could just listen to it over and over. I just completed a fan video where I used this song (hopefully I can post it soon) and I still want to listen to it over and over. I love it! Anyway, I thought since I liked that song so much I would listen to some of his other musical creations. I enjoy it. It's electronic music you can actually sit and listen to. Even the more exploratory songs are still have something interesting about them. I'd venture to say that I even found some the rap stuff interesting.

1. Ed Sheeran

This all started when my mom started following Ed Sheeran on Twitter. She keep showing me all his new videos and what not. That of course made me want to go listen to his music on my own. I loved his guitar style and how he puts together his lyrics. I of course enjoyed his vocal styling as well. Man I don't know how he sings so many words in one breath without passing out. Haha! Anyway I spent a couple of hours Monday night watching a concert he did in Ireland on YouTube. Awesome!

So that it for Weekly Obsessions Music Edition. That was fun!
