I decided to do a meme that I had never done before this week. This one always seems so fun but I always end up reading all the posts and never doing it. Thought it was time I joined in.

Please join me every Friday to share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires. Please remember to include the title of the book and the author's name.
"There is one mirror in my house. It is behind a sliding panel in the hallway. Our faction allows me to stand in front of it on the second day of every third month, the day my mother cuts my hair."
My Thoughts
I was kind of on the fence about reading this book for some reason. Even though I like dystopia, I just wasn't sure I'd like this one and I heard that A LOT of people didn't like the third book. However, one of my mom's music students convinced me it was worth giving it a go. I have to say the first lines do a really good job of setting the world of the story. In just those few sentences you get a very good picture of what Tris' life is like at the beginning of the book, and all before you even learn her name. I'm on chapter seven and so far I'm really enjoying Divergent. I hope I finish it in time to see the movie, but I'm reading about six books right now. I do have a road trip this Sunday so I'm thinking I can read a good chunk of Divergent then.
